This week was really good! We went to the Temple, I got to Skype y'all at home, and it was a pretty good week for teaching people! We weren't able to teach as many people as we would like, but the people we did teach we had really good lessons with them. And I'll tell you what. the key to having those good lessons was not anything we did, the key was getting members there to those lessons. We have had a harder time getting members to lessons because we do a lot of "let's go by this person and see if they're home" and don't have as many "set" lessons as we would like. But I know for sure we're going to keep working on getting more members out with us!!
Also i was asked to write something for the Girls Camp this summer (I think all the missionaries from the Stake were asked), and I'd like to share what I wrote, I think y'all will enjoy it, although it'll be a sneak peek for Morgan... :)
“Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlasting life" 3 Nephi5:13
I love this scripture. I hadn't ever heard of it or noticed it until I was asked to write to y'all, but it immediately struck a cord with me because I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. I have been called of Him to declare His word among His people, that they might have everlasting life. And all of us, you and I, are called to that work.
As a disciple of Christ, as we all are disciples of Christ, my job, my purpose, is to bear humble testimony of Him and invite others to come unto Him. I do this because I have come to know for myself that He is the Savior and Redeemer of the world, He's my Savior and Redeemer. Through following what He asks me to do, reading from His holy word, turning to our Father in Heaven in prayer, or in other words, doing all the "Primary answers", through all that I grow closer to my Savior, my Brother, my Friend everyday. And then I share what I feel, what I learn, what helps me, what I feel strongly; I share that with others, having faith that the humble testimony I share helps them feel a portion of the Spirit.
And that is what the Hastening of the Work of Salvation is about. Doing what we already know we should do so that we can gain a firm testimony of Christ. Then share that with others. You don't have to use fancy words, or speak like a prophet from the Book of Mormon. You don't have to have stacks of physical evidence, nor do you have to know everything. You just have to be you and say what you know is true! That's what I know is true and you can share it too.
Well, I had less time than normal this week, sorry about that, but I hope your week is fantastic!
