12/17/14- surprise last transfer
I was surprise transferred for my last six weeks of my mission. I am now serving in Clearlake, CA. One of the most surprising things is that this area really reminds me of Georgia. I am in a trio with Elder Foster and Elder Beeston (greenie). The coolest thing is that we get to drive a TRUCK--four wheel drive--because the roads here are mostly dirt ungraded roads.

I was not surprised to be transferred now. I had been in Santa Rosa for four months, one of my longest times to be in one area. I was surprised to be transferred with my companion, Elder Hansen, that I have been training. That means that both of us will be new to the area we are going, and the Elders that had been there will both be leaving...it's called "white-washing" an area. I am now serving in Cloverdale, CA. There is not a Spanish Branch or even a Spanish Group here. But there are a few Hispanic members that we can work with.

I was surprised to be transferred so early to my fifth area. I was only in Fairfield for 2 transfers (12 weeks) and had 2 different companions. I liked them both and was sad to leave them and Fairfield. But, I like Santa Rosa so far, I like my new companion, Elder Grisham and I am happy (if not nervous) to be serving as the District Leader here. I am in Santa Rosa, which is also where the mission home is, or "home base" for the mission.

I was transferred to my fourth area on 4/16. I am now in Fairfield. I am impressed with my new companion, Elder Teisina who is from Tonga.

I was transferred to my third area, Napa, on Dec. 11. I am back on a bike and loving it! The countryside is very beautiful here, and in some more treed areas it reminds me of home (Georgia). There is a branch of Spanish speaking members here and I am excited to work with them and my new companion Elder Teren.

I was transferred to my second area of my mission...Vacaville. Yes, that translates into "Cowtown"! It is hotter here, but we have a car now to drive around in (with air-conditioning.) I am in a three-some, with Elder Lenon and Elder Debora, and we are serving the spanish speaking people here. Check my "write-me" page for my current address.
This is my first area to serve in, San Rafael Central. We serve basically the downtown part, while another companionship serves the outlying areas even all the way south to the Golden Gate Bridge.
