Hola Familia y Amigos!!
This past week's been a good week! We've had some great lessons, and
I'm really excited for this week. So we were able to teach Max the
dad, but not Max the son. He hadn't read in the Book of Mormon (dang
it ]: ) but he said he's been thinking about baptism and praying about
it, which is a really good sign! He also said he'd read in the BoM
too, so we'll see on Wed. when we see him, hopefully he has!
We also taught Fernando (can't remember if I've mentioned him before)
and had a really good lesson where we answered a lot of questions and
resolved some concerns about reading in the Book of Mormon that he
had. He was kind of one of those that thinks that "only the Bible"
because of the verse in Revelations at the end, but we explained that
that verse refers only to the Book of Revelations, not the whole
Bible. And he kind of lit up and said that now he understands how
important it is to see if the Book of Mormon is the Word of God. It
was a really exciting lesson, and we're hoping to set a baptismal date
with him this week!
We also taught a couple new people. Well, only one is actually new,
the other we just haven't been able to teach for a while and because
of a glitch in the area book app he wasn't recognized as an
investigator. But their names are Jose and Jorge. They both have
talked to missionaries in the past, and are pretty open to having us
over. Jose says he won't get baptized, and that's why missionaries
stopped visiting him, but we hope that maybe now he's had a slight
change of heart, or that the seed has grown a little, and we can
nourish it and help it grow.
Jorge is a lot more open, he's a 17 year old who we've taught before,
but haven't been able to get an appt. with him until we felt like
texting him and seeing when we could come by. It's kind of funny
because he's struggling a lot because he just went through his first
break up, and that's kind of why he turned to us, but he's an awesome
kid that already has high standards and strong faith. We have an appt.
with him this Wed. and we hope to set a baptismal date with him then
as well!
There's been a lot going on this week apart from all that, but I don't
have time to tell all about it. Those were some of the most exciting
or new things going on, but be assured that we're having a great time
here in Napa, and that we're plenty busy! :)
I love y'all, do good and take care!
