Familia y Amigos!!
Monday: Unfortunately Mary and Pablo dodged us this day, but we got to see them later in the week, so... more about that later. We also had a lesson with an investigator named Jamileth who has been investigating for a while, used to go to church very often, knows a lot and could be baptized any time, but a) for a while didn't go to church and b) doesn't want to get baptized until she's read the whole Book of Mormon (which is just an excuse I'm sure, we've gotta find the real reason why she doesn't want to be baptized yet).
Tuesday: We had exchanges (noticing a pattern yet?) and Elder Anderson came here with me. We had a good day and I was definitely blessed in both understanding and speaking Spanish. We gave two blessings to new people and taught two lessons. They weren't super great, but the fact that I could do them basically by myself was a miracle. We had lessons with Maria Acanon and Marcela Miguel. Miguel is the brother of Antonio and has been investigating for a while, but has a Word of Wisdom problem (drinking, what else?), but Marcela, his wife, is really interested and such an awesome person, she just needs to come to church pretty much.
Wednesday: We had interviews with Pres. Alba which was really great, I really love Pres. and Sis. Alba, they're soo awesome, and it was a treat to meet with them. Otherwise though that day wasn't too great, a lot of tracting and a meeting with our Ward Mission Leader.
Thursday: Today was another good day. We had a lesson with Pablo (as in Mary and Pablo) that was pretty good, we talked about the Book of Mormon and committed him to reading and praying about it. He was excited to get one and read it, saying that he'd actually been wondering about it. We also had lessons with Miguel and Marcela and a new investigator named Beatrice. She's been taught before, but it's been a while, and we're hoping to teach her tonight again. It was also Elder Perez's birthday which was fun, and we got a miracle referral from a member that lives in Richmond (out of the mission) but works in San Rafael and has a friend that lives down in the Canal. He just saw us walking around and gave us this referral that he had already written out and we called it Elder Perez's Birthday present
Friday: We had a lesson with Arnolfo (as in Maria and Arnolfo) which was good because we haven't had a lesson with them in a while. He is progressing, but a little slowly, which I guess is probably because we haven't been able to teach him and his wife a lot.
Saturday: We had a lot of stopping by people that weren't there today, and a lot of tracting. Plus we had another meeting with Hno. Vado.
Sunday: We didn't have any lessons or anything interesting Sunday, but we had a meeting with a member of the Stake Presidency, Pres. Kurtz. It was sooo super spiritual and great. Especially when he offered the closing prayer because he started by saying, "Heavenly Father, it's your son, Chris,..." and you could tell he was truly just talking to his Father in Heaven, and was very special. I encourage y'all to take a look at how you pray; are you just sending a mental letter to God or are you truly talking with your Dad?
