It's really weird because the last district that was here when I got here left yesterday, so our district has been here longer than the rest of the districts in the zone. I explained the district/zone thing before and I told y'all about my companion(s) and new roommates, but I haven't told you about my district, so I thought I'd share a bit about them, especially since I don't know if I'll be able to send another e-mail before I leave the CCM.
There's E. White and I, and E. Barnes and E. Sorensen who are the Elders in our district, and there's Hna. (Hermana, or Sister) Fredrickson and Hna. Thompson, and Hna. Law and Hna. Patterson are las Hermanas. You know me (hopefully...) and I've already talked about E. White, so I'll start with E. Barnes. He's from Utah, and is pretty much the class clown in our district; he's really funny, and really nice and willing to help people out. His companion is E. Sorensen from Utah, too. They're both 18 and both have strong cool testimonies and strong desires to work hard and serve the Lord. They're both the Zone Leaders which means that they're in charge of the Elders and kinda the Sisters (except not really, as I'll explain in a second) in our Zone.
Then the Sisters: (quick fun fact: all of them are here because of the age change. Which I thought was pretty cool.) Hna. Fredrickson is from Texas and went to BYU the same time I did. She stayed in Heritage (like me) and apparently was in my building hanging out with the guys right below me a lot. She says she vaguely remembers seeing me at some point. Kinda cool, huh! Her companion is Hna. Thompson from Orlando, Florida. She's the first person in her family to serve a mission and it's been neat to hear her background and have her share her testimony and faith. Then there's Hna. Law from Gilbert, Arizona. She, along with Hnas. Fredrickson and Thompson are the only ones in our district who are also going to Santa Rosa (E. White and Hna. Patterson: Costa Rica. E. Barnes and Sorensen: Torrion, Mexico). Unfortunately Hna. Law broke her foot about a week and a half ago and will be getting surgery, so she'll stay in the MTC for an extra few weeks (for people who might want to know how she broke it, she missed a step going down the stairs and landed on it wrong. Kinda a freak accident.). She's what's called Coordinating Sister which means she's who's really in charge of the Sisters in our Zone. She's pretty quiet, but a really fun person when she opens up. Her companion is Hna. Patterson from Lehi, Utah. She's probably the most energetic and chatty of the Hermanas in our district. She asks me all the time if she's my favorite Hna. and I have to tell her that yes she's my favorite, just like all the rest of the Hnas. in our district.
Anyways, I'm 'bout out of time. I hope y'all are all doing well, and I always love hearing from people, and how they're doing. I'm super excited to be so close to actually being in the field and teaching actual investigators, even though I'm sure it'll be super hard.
