Querido Familia y Amigos!!
So this week is transfer week... and sadly E. Teisina is leaving to go
to Clearlake. Which is somewhere up north... I'm not super sure
exactly where. An E. Payne is going to be coming in. I don't know much
about him, other than that he's been out for a while, maybe even more
than me. Anyways, I'm sad to have E. Teisina leave, he's a really good
Elder who works hard and always does his best. But I'm excited to have
E. Payne here, people say he's a cool guy and it'll be nice not having
to worry about Spanish with my companion as much.
On a good note, E. Teisina and my last week together was a pretty good
week. We were not able to have any investigators come to sacrament
meeting, but we did have 13 lessons for the week, which is pretty
good. We also picked up 4 new investigators. We were able to teach the
Sanchez family, Roberto and Veronica, Rocío (who's new) and Arturo,
Dulce and her brother Alexis, the Ortega family, and a few other
people in the area and on Facebook. Plus we have a less-active that
we're teaching, Rafaela, who we committed to do the Book of Mormon
challenge (kind of) with us. We invited her to do it in 150 days
instead of 90, but its the same idea, and hopefully she can increase
her testimony through doing so, and come back to activity. We found
out in our lesson today that Roberto and Veronica aren't married when
we invited them to set a baptismal date. They wouldn't accept a date,
although they admit that if everything goes as it's going they will
eventually get baptized... We talked about the importance of having a
goal, instead of just "someday". It's kind of frustrating a little
because as missionaries we can see that they have an answer already,
they just have difficulty recognizing it. But we invited them to pray
about a date to get baptized and Roberto committed to start reading
the Book of Mormon as well, even though he's been reluctant in the
past. It's frustrating to see someone so close to accepting the Gospel
and have them take longer than you think it should take for them to
accept it. But they are progressing I believe and I'm super grateful
to have come here to be a part of helping them progress and accept the
Gospel in their lives.
Really if I could ask y'all to be praying specifically that our
investigators can come to Sacrament Meeting I know that would really
help this area out. You could even pray that investigators in the
branch come in general, not just ours. It's been pretty dry, so to
speak, in the branch with investigators since about the beginning of
the year. This is probably one of the things most concerning me in
this area in particular so far.
I love y'all a lot and wish y'all the best of luck this week!
