SORRY FOR THE 2 WEEK DELAY WITH THE LAST TWO LETTERS. THE WEBSITE ADMINISTRATORS (mom and dad) WERE OUT OF TOWN. :)
This week was pretty good. We had one investigator at church, Jamileth, who loved church, and we're hoping to work with her more through a member, Cristina, who's a good friend to her. We hope that if she comes at her with a lot of the commitments, setting up lessons, and stuff like that, instead of us missionaries, it would be a lot better for her. We're hoping that she's really very close to accepting baptism, and just needs a push to get there. We just have to figure out the right push, with the right amount of force and in the right direction... not an easy task, but we've got the Lord to help us. I'm disappointed Antonio didn't come to church yesterday either, we had a great lesson with him Friday and committed him to being baptized the 23rd of June, and then he didn't come to church like he said he would. We had a ride for him and everything, but we will hopefully be able to see him in the next few days and help him prepare to be baptized on the 23rd. As far as missionary work goes, we didn't have many other exciting news. We had a lesson with Beatriz who is willing to listen to the missionaries just about anytime, but isn't as willing to follow through with commitments that we leave with her, which is frustrating, but we're working with her on that, so we'll see this week. So, to explain the title: On Wednesday for lunch I was cooking on the stove and Elder Perez scared me as he walked by. Elder Martin missed it and had me explain what happened, and so I did, explaining that I got surprised and then showed him an exaggerated (of course) version of what I looked like. Elder Martin thought it was funny and said, "That looks like there's a Youtube video in there somewhere." I replied, "No, if I was trying to copy a Youtube video I'd do this..." At which point I defaulted to demonstrating classic scared black person (if you don't know what a classic scared black person does look it up on Youtube and have a good laugh). As I turned to punch behind me I felt my fist contact something and I thought to myself, "wait, I specifically punched so that I wouldn't hit the microwave... what did I hit??" Then my eyes focused on where my fist had just been; it turns out that I hit Elder Fonseca square in the eye as he walked behind me without me knowing. I felt sooo bad. He's alright, and slips little comments in about it all the time to make fun of me, so I don't feel too bad about it anymore. Anyway, I don't have any more time, but I hope you have a good week!
