Hola familia y amigos!! Como estan?
This week was ok, but not great. Circumstances just worked out so that we weren't able to have lessons with as many people as we wanted. But here's our week:
Monday: We had a lot of appts. that fell through. We had a good dinner and lesson with a less active family with the Rios.
Tuesday: We had exchanges and instead of going to someone else's area I stayed in my area and Elder Camper came here. That means that I was in charge of, well, everything basically. I was the only one that spoke Spanish as well. It was actually a lot less scary and stressful as I thought it would be. We had a lot of good contacts, a few of which we've been able to go back to visit. And we've got appts. that are scheduled for a few more. Plus we got a few referrals for the other Elders.
Wednesday: We didn't have much exciting except for after dinner we went to a complex and found two people, Max and Jose. Max was really interested, but didn't have time then, and we haven't been able to see him since, but when we catch him at home he'll be a good investigator for sure. Also with Jose he let us in and we left a blessing with him after talking for a couple minutes. When he let us in he was hesitant, but after the blessing he just said, "You guys can stay..." We unfortunately couldn't stay because we had an appointment, but we will hopefully be able to meet with him in the next couple days.
Thursday: We had another lesson with Marta and Manuel and showed The Restoration to them. The Spirit was super strong and great and they are really wanting to know what's the truth and hopefully they do the things they need to so that they can find it and know for themselves. We'll hopefully see them either today or tomorrow.
Friday: A lot of the day was studies and Weekly Planning, so we couldn't have many appointments, and the one we had with Antonio fell through, which was really disappointing, but we did find out what's happening with transfers for the next 6 weeks. I'm staying in this area, but I'm getting a new companion, Elder Perez who everybody says is just super awesome, and who's from Mexico. Also Elder Hyde is leaving as well as Elder Rawson, but I can't remember who Elder Fonseca's new companion is.
Saturday: We did a lot of tracting, and found a few interested people including two people named Lilian and one Jesus. I'm kinda surprised I didn't run into someone named Jesus before now, because there's supposed to be quite a few of them among the Hispanic population.
Sunday: I got to Skype home!!! Elder Hyde and Elder Fonseca had a baptism today too, which was super awesome. I'm sad we don't have anybody that is ready to be baptized yet, though. We also again didn't have anybody at Church which is starting to get a little annoying... Then in the evening we had a lesson With Maria Acanon about the Book of Mormon. She's actually read a little of it, and we encouraged her to keep reading it and pray about it, which she committed to do.
